RAAC

Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) stands out as a lightweight variant of concrete, distinct from the conventional form due to its manufacturing process, resulting in a lower strength profile. With an estimated lifespan of approximately 30 years, RAAC was notably prevalent in the UK between the 1950s and the mid-1990s, particularly in educational institutions and public structures.

TRACE-SI is able to detect the existence of RAAC plans through most surface finishes. Allowing for offering comprehensive RAAC surveys for buildings where the presence of RAAC is hidden.  Once the presence of RAAC is confirmed our team conducts thorough assessments of the baring lengths and bars, through a combination of visual inspections, non-intrusive testing, and destructive sampling. Ensuring informed decision-making regarding the structure's composition.
